Are you decorating for spring? Do you have a mudroom? I have 5 easy ways to decorate your mudroom or for spring.
My sweet friend, Pasha from Pasha Is Home is hosting myself and other wonderful bloggers to bring you lots of spring inspiration.

If you have come over from my wonderful friend, Rachel from The Ponds Farmhouse, welcome! Rachel has the best Easter decorating ideas for a front porch. I love following her blog.
For those of you that are new, I am Tammy. Welcome to my home called White Lilac Farmhouse. You will see that my style is a blend of old items with new. With my husband and two French Bulldogs, we live in the southern part of Maryland minutes from the water.
Today, lets talk about 5 easy ways to decorate your mudroom for Easter and spring. The mudroom is the collect all room of the house. It can often be neglected when it comes to decorating.
Why not make this room fun and beautiful too! Afterall this room is normally the room you see when you leave the house and the first room when you enter back into the house. Use some of these same ideas to decorate your entry too.
5 Easy Ways To Decorate Your Mudroom For Spring
The first thing I do is remove everything out of the room except for any furniture. I give the room a good spring cleaning.
The bench cushions makes it way into the washer for a good cleaning.

I love the way a room smells so fresh after a good cleaning. Everything from doors, knobs and baseboards all get a good wipe down.
refresh your rug

Does your rug get all stained from stuff tracked in and out of the house?
The previous rug was worn and stained. This room get a lot of use from our family. It has low stairs making it easy access for my mother when she visits. When the grandchildren are over, they are in and out through this door.
The new rug brings the spring inside this space with this pretty green color. My new rug was a good deal at $12.99 from HomeGoods and apparently Piper approved. Piper sniffs all of the home stuff that come in. It will be new spot for her to lay.
Refresh your seating area with some spring pillows

A easy way to decorate your mudroom for spring is change out the pillows on your bench. Whether you have a bench in your entry way or in a mudroom, adding seasonal pillows can make your space cozy. Switch out dark color winter pillows for lighter colors.
The green plaid pillows works both in the spring, summer and fall. Find pillows that can work with several seasons.
To fresh it up, two neutral color pillows were added. The cream pillow against the blue green bench softs this space. Cream pillows are so versatile. You can move them around into most rooms.
decorate with flowers

You can add dried or faux flowers to your space to let spring in. This market basket hung on a hook holds some hydrangeas that were dried from my garden last year.
Small vases with a few stems of faux flowers brightens up any room. Although it is a mudroom, you can make it welcoming for your family to arrive and leave.
add some seasonal decorations

You can keep it simple and add wreath on the door. If you have a built-in bench, a wreath can be hung on the hook.
Keep some hooks clear for jackets or back-packs. My grandchildren love when this room is decorated for an upcoming holiday. This gathering basket that is used in my garden has fun foiled eggs tucked in. They will love hiding them in the house for a treat.
Our mudroom is decorated but functional too. Shoes are hidden away in baskets. A couple hooks for jackets. Still a nice space to sit and put shoes on.

After Easter the bunnies and eggs are easy to remove and the room is still decorated for spring. A plant can be moved on top of my microwave.
add plants

If you do nothing else to your room, add a live plant or plants. I have a great post about Succulent Plants for Indoors. They are super easy to care for and hard to kill.
No window, not a problem. Add a pretty faux plant for some greenery.

A question I get is what color is on my built-in bench. The Paint is Sherwin Williams color “Restful”. I had Valspar Cabinet and Furniture Paint tinted to this color.
Depending on the lighting, the bench color can look green or it looks aqua. It’s the perfect balance of blue and green.
