5 Tips for a Bedroom Refresh

Decor

6 Mar

With spring just around the corner, I wanted to give one of our bedrooms a refresh. Here are my 5 tips for a bedroom refresh.

1. Create a Mood Board

I find by creating a mood board, it helps to keep your design idea on track and will save you money in the long run. You hear so many times people buying items and wind up selling or taking it back because it does not work with their design concept or the space.

2. eliminate the dresser

Sometimes a desk is better than a dresser. If you have adequate closet space, guest can hang their clothes. I have small portable dressers in a few of closets. It frees up space in the bedroom.

You can swap the dresser for a desk. This particular bedroom doubles as a room for my grandsons and my son, Zach when they come to visit me. By adding a desk to the room, my grandsons can use the surface for playing with Legos. My Zach who is a weekend Sports Anchor would have a space to place his laptop to work.

3. New bedding

New bedding can give the room a fresh new look. Soothing color palate can make the room warm and cozy for your guests.

4. fresh coat of paint

Sometimes you do not need to repaint the room a new color. You may want to grab that extra paint can from underneath your steps. If you patch any holes or dings and give the room a fresh coat of paint, it will spruce it up. You will be amazed at what a little paint touch up can do for the room.

5. Add a plant

If you add a real plant to the room, it will instantly brighten up the space. Plus, plants help to purify the air, helps you focus to increase productivity, accelerates healing process, helps with stress and anxiety levels, adds humidity to the air, etc. So many good benefits to having real plants in a room.

I hope these tips were helpful to you. Currently, my bedroom refresh is underway. It will be finished by next weekend. I look forward to sharing with you some photos of the bedroom refresh.
