For chocolate lovers, homemade black bottom muffins are a thoughtful and delicious gift that’s easy to transport and share.

Wrapping homemade black bottom muffins in a basket or metal tub creates a charming and personal gift presentation. Here’s how to do it:

Prepare the muffins: Let the muffins cool completely on a wire rack. This prevents condensation from building up and making them soggy.

  • Choose a basket or container: Select a container that complements the number of muffins you’re gifting. I am using a metal tub. A small wicker basket works well for a small batch, while a larger basket can accommodate a dozen or more. Line the basket with decorative tissue paper for a pop of color.
  • Arrange the muffins: Place the muffins in the basket on the container that has been lined with tissue paper. You can scrunch up two or more sheets of tissue paper and place them in the bottom. It helps to prevent the muffins from smushing. You can nestle them in shredded colored paper for a more whimsical look.

  • Wrap the basket or container with cellophane: For an extra touch, consider wrapping the basket or container in clear cellophane. You can secure the cellophane with a colorful ribbon or twine tied into a simple bow. A decorative element such as these carrots (found at Hobby Lobby) adds that Easter touch.
  • Attach a gift tag: Don’t forget a handwritten gift tag expressing your message. You can mention the occasion, or simply write a heartfelt note about the homemade treat.

With a little creativity, your basket of black bottom muffins becomes a gift that’s as beautiful as it’s delicious.
