DIY Heart Wreath With Tulips, Moss & Ribbon – Step-By-Step Tutorial
1. Adding Tulips & Ribbon

These 14.5″ tulip bushes are gorgeous and incredibly budget-friendly at only $1.99! Once you’ve got your tulips, gently separate them from the bush and trim the stems to a manageable length. Begin attaching the tulips to the top left side of your grapevine heart. Apply a dab of hot glue to the grapevine and carefully press the stem of a tulip into the hot glue. To protect your fingertips from the hot glue, use a pencil or a small piece of tulip stem to apply pressure. I like to use these silicone finger protectors too.

Work your way down the heart, adding tulips and checking the arrangement as you go. Aim for a balanced and full look. When you reach the bottom center and you like the result, it’s time to add the ribbon. Tie a simple bow using frayed white cotton ribbon, or any ribbon that complements your tulips.
2. Adding Texture With Moss

With the bow in place, begin gluing moss to the opposite side of the wreath, working halfway up.

Time to add some texture and depth! The moss is key to bringing this wreath together. Carefully tuck small pieces of moss between the tulips, filling in any gaps and creating a seamless, natural look. Be sure to check your progress as you go until you have achieved a cohesive design with no unsightly holes. The lush green moss creates a stunning contrast against the vibrant pink tulips, adding a pop of color and bringing the wreath to life. I like to rotate the wreath and even hold it up to make sure I haven’t missed any spots. Use the moss sparingly – a little goes a long way in creating a beautiful effect.
TIP: Avoid wearing a sweater when working with moss. You will end up with more moss on you than on your wreath. Lesson learned!

It was fighting a losing battle! Next time, I will wear my craft apron or old cotton shirt.

To finish the DIY heart wreath, cut a piece of floral wire. Insert in the back of the wreath through some branches. Twist it into a loop for hanging.
