Easy Healthy and Delicious Overnight Muesli
Have you heard of Muesli? Are you looking for an easy grab and go breakfast? Here is an easy healthy and delicious overnight muesli recipe.
These days, I have been doing more meal prepping. It saves money to plan ahead. By meal prepping it helps me on my healthy journey. It is super helpful to have meals ready to grab and eat or grab and heat up.
Several years ago while vacationing in Switzerland, I had a cold breakfast cereal called Muesli. It was a cold cereal. The breakfast cereal contained oats, seeds, nuts, dried fruit and apples with milk. I found muesli to be filling and delicious. It gave me plenty of energy walking on vacation.

What is muesli?
It is a cold Swiss breakfast. The main ingredient is rolled oats. It is soaked overnight.
What is the difference between oats and muesli?
The main difference between the two is that muesli is ready to eat like cereal. Pour it into a bowl and add regular milk or almond milk to it. You can eat it like a regular bowl of cereal.
You usually cook the oats. Oats and muesli are made from whole grains. Muesli is made of oats and flakes like bran flakes. Oats are made from rolled seeds of oats grass.
Muesli has comparatively higher protein and nutrient due to the presence of additional ingredients. It tends to have more sugar with the added items such as dried fruit and fruit.
What is muesli refer to in America?
In America, some people consider Muesli and granola to be the same. It is not the same. Granola is made with similar ingredients as muesli with oats, nuts, seeds, and fruit. However, granola typically normally has more sugar and oil than muesli.

Easy Healthy and Delicious Overnight Muesli
You can make your own muesli from scratch or purchase a bag of Bob’s Red Mill Old Country Style Muesli for the grocery store. It has 140 calories per ¼ cup with 0 grams of sodium; 5 grams of sugar and 23 grams of carbohydrates. It consists of whole wheat, Rye, Barley, whole grain oats, dates, raisins, sunflower seeds, almonds, flaxseed, and walnuts. This option is the easiest for me. There is less than 5 grams of sugar.

What do I love about overnight muesli? It is a wonderful healthy and convenient breakfast by soaking muesli in milk and yogurt (optional) overnight. This softens the oats and allows the other ingredients to meld together. In the morning, you have convenient options for a delicious creamy breakfast. A convenient breakfast that you can make ahead of time, grab, and go in the morning with no preparation.
I use orange blossom honey to sweeten my overnight muesli. You could also use pure maple syrup for another healthy alternative. Most of the sugar in this muesli is from fruit.
To get my protein intake up with each meal, I have also included yogurt into this recipe. I use FAGE Total with 0% milkfat. It has 18 grams of protein with 5 grams of sugar, 90 calories per 3/4 cup. Try to watch the sugar count in yogurts. A good Greek yogurt works great with this recipe too.
