Looking for mudroom ideas? Here are some ideas for a farmhouse mudroom. Our mudroom was built to have lots of storage in a small space.

A built in bench can add a lot of storage options. You can choose to do built-in cabinets to hide clutter or have an open bench.
We have built-in cubies at the bottom of our bench that fits these Savannah Handwoven Seagrass Baskets for storage. Shoes, dog supplies, bird suet packs, towels, etc. fit will in the baskets.

Hooks a long the top of the bench are perfect to hang jackets, aprons, ball caps or even bookbags for children. My children are grown but when the grandchildren are over, this space is well utilized. They love to hang their backpacks and jackets here. Shoes can be tucked into one of the baskets so the dog does not snag one to chew.
An old vintage sideboard hold extra kitchen supplies. One of the drawers holds all of our extra batteries. It also is a perfect spot for the microwave and toaster to keep counterspace in the kitchen clutter to a minimum. Our mudroom doubles also as a butler’s pantry and perfect right off of the kitchen.
Two Brighton Floating Wood Shelves in white oak over the vintage sideboard adds even more storage for small serving dishes and decorative items.
The fun part is adding some decorations for each season. My favorite are the Lori Mitchell Collection of Trick or Treats for the fall. I just love this LITTLE ALIEN resin figurine.

Thank you, Cindy. My husband laughs when I always say it’s my favorite room. It’s because it’s small and fun to decorate for the seasons. I love my signs that changes with the seasons. The only bad thing now with an open concept home, I don’t have as many walls.

I love your mudroom! We had one at our old house and recently moved and it is one of the things I really miss. I am going to have to “create” a room or a landing pad in my laundry room.

Elizabeth, I never had one before until this house. It was one of the must haves on our list for the new home. Now if I had little children, it probably would not look pretty all the time. LOL
