If you have come over from my friend Rachel from The Ponds Farmhouse, wasn’t her Valentine’s Bedroom beautiful? She makes everything warm and inviting.
For those of you that are new, I am Tammy. Welcome to my home called White Lilac Farmhouse. You will see that my style is a blend of old items with new. With my husband and two French Bulldogs, we live in the southern part of Maryland. Not far from the water.

This year Valentine’s Day falls on Tuesday. I will be making a nice dinner for my husband, son and I. Thankfully Jim and Tyler do not mind if there is the color pink on the table. It makes them feel special.
The only items purchased for my lovely Valentine’s Day table setting were some chocolates and flowers.
The fruit was from my grocery purchase for us. It was part of my regular budget. The flowers were my treat to myself.
Valentine’s Day Table Setting
1. use your linens

This linen square table cloth from April Cornell creates a romantic vibe to the tablescape. You can turn it on a diagonal to use as a table scarf on a long rectangular table.
Try adding a throw to your table.
2. add sweet sentiments To your Valentine’s Day Table

An old Scrabble Board Game from my children comes in handy. I love using the tile pieces and the tile holders in my home décor.
It is perfect for creating sweet sentiments for Valentine’s Day. They are fun to use for place holder with friends names for dinner parties too!
It’s one of the games I look for at yard sales to pick up extra tiles and holders.

A sweet sentiment for my husband, Jim.

My sentiment is “Blessed” and the one for my son is “Loved”. It’s the little touches that will make your family feel special.
If you don’t have any Scrabble pieces, you could cut out hearts from card stock. On the heart, you could write a personal message to your husband, partner and/or children. Tuck the heart into their napkins or lay on top of each plate. Write their names on one side with the personal message on the other side.
3. Make your own floral arrangement

These are flowers from a local grocery store. I got a bunch of flowers and some fillers.
Check back on Thursday for my post with a tutorial on how to make your own floral arrangement for Valentine’s Day.
The pinks, whites and greens are soft and pretty on the table.
4. use dishes that you have

For my Valentine’s Day Table Setting, I am using my everyday white dishes. The red and white salad plates were from HomeGoods a few years ago.
The Waterford crystal water goblets are our wedding. I love to use them for special dinners.
5. scattered tealight candles to create AMBIANCE

Simple tea lights are all you need for setting the mood. Who doesn’t like a little candle light?
6. Fresh Fruits

Fresh fruits can make your table look beautiful. It can be a wonderful healthy appetizer. Some soft Brie will pair nicely with the fruit.
7. You got to have some chocolate

Have you seen these Lindor Strawberry Cream Chocolates? They are in pretty pink wrappers and taste amazing too!
A bag of them fills an antique Westmoreland Pink Compote Dish. This dish is extra special. It belonged to my grandmother.
