Life Among The Blooms: Embracing The Fall Season
We had a few beautiful days of high 70s temperatures. Before fully embracing the fall season, we took our Frenchies to the beach.
It was great that the rain ceased and the sun began to shine. On Saturday, it was perfect weather for a picnic at our local beach.
Point Lookout State Park is located in Scotland, MD. It is a beautiful and peaceful park on a peninsula between the Chesapeake Bay and the Potomac River in St. Mary’s County. If you are not local, you may be unaware of the history of this location. It served as a camp that imprisoned as many as 52,264 Confederate soldiers during the Civil War. The state of Maryland was divided during the Civil War fighting for the North or South.

There is a lighthouse, a museum, a public beach for swimming, a pet beach, a fishing pier, and camping available. However, in 2024, the buildings will be closed for needed renovations and repairs to the Nature Center and Civil War Museum. We look forward to the park reopening the buildings to the public in 2025.

Piper and Chibi had a blast running along the beach, jumping in the water, rolling in the sand, and exploring nature.
These sweet dogs were full of silly antics. They indulge in racing each other along the surf. Chibi (cream Pied Bald Frenchie) would avoid getting her feet wet. Meanwhile, Piper (brindle Frenchie) would submerge her entire body in the water.

I could not resist putting my toes into the water. It was refreshing not chilly. We had to embrace the fall season with warm temperatures. It is starting to cool off and feel more like fall.
While there, I not only collected beautiful sea shells for future projects but also discovered gorgeous pinecones to embrace the fall season.

Thank you, Cindy. It was a beautiful and fun day.
What a beautiful beach! It is so cute that your dogs will play in the water. Mine would never haha!
Jackie, thank you for your comment on the post. Pipe loves the water. The little dog, Chibi is not too fond of it. She is prissy and does not like her feet wet. Dogs are so funny.
