DIY No-Sew Pumpkin Pillow: A quick and easy fall decor project.
This project requires you to gather a few materials. You may want to keep wet wipes or damp paper towels handy. Your fingertip may get a little messy (not bad).
Look for a fabric that has texture to it. A raised texture would be beautiful for this project. Local stores such as Hobby Lobby or Joann will have a variety of fabrics on sale or clearance. Never pay full price and seek out bargain prices. Remember to use any in-store coupons. Joann has a downloadable app for your phones.
Supplies:

- A ready-made pillow cover (18 x 18)
- Fabric choice
- 3/8″ decorative braided trim of choice
- Pumpkin Template
- Scissors
- Aleene’s Fabric Fusion Permanent Fabric Adhesive
- Scrap cardboard
- Pencil, pen, or fabric marker (Water Soluble Marking Pen, Blue)
- Stick pins (optional)
Step 1: Prepare The Pillow Cover & Fabric
Follow the care instructions on the pillow cover packaging. Do not use fabric softener when washing or drying the pillow cover and fabric. Pre-wash cotton fabric to prevent shrinkage after the pillow is constructed.
Iron the pillow cover and fabric to remove any wrinkles.
Step. 2: Cut The Fabric

Use a pen or fabric marker to trace around the backside of the fabric. Cut fabric pieces according to the template shape.
Step 3: Adhere Fabric Pumpkin

To prevent the pillow front and back from fusing, insert a piece of scrap cardboard before applying Fabric Fusion.
Place the fabric pumpkin on the pillow cover and center.

Apply Fabric Fusion to the back and around the edges of the fabric pieces. Do not apply the fabric glue too close to the edge. Smooth out any wrinkles or glue underneath the fabric with your hand.
Step 4: Add Decorative Trim
Cut the decorative trim to the desired length. Run the Fabric Fusion around the edge of the pumpkin to add the trim, or apply it to the trim and press it along the raw edges. Avoid using too much glue that will bleed onto the fabric.

Push the trim along the edges to cover the raw edge of the fabric pumpkin. You can use push pins to hold in place (optional). Fabric Fusion is a clear-drying adhesive that becomes tacky quickly. Simply hold the fabric pieces in place for a minute or two for a secure bond.
I found that working in small sections worked the best. A little of the Fabric Fusion goes a long way.
Step 5: Allow To Completely Dry
Allow the Fabric Fusion to cure on the pillow for 48 hours. Clean with a damp cloth. The pillow is washable after 48 hours.
