Supplies

  • 14 ” grapevine wreath
  • Twine
  • Hot glue gun & glue sticks
  • Scissors
  • Cotton ribbon (color of choice)
  • Flowers of choice (using three pink hydrangeas, two pink roses, three stems of cherry blossoms, and three pink branches of choice). Select various shades of pinks from soft pale to vibrant colors.
  • Various greens for fillers (two green hops)

Hanging The Wreath

In the first step, let’s add a way to hang your wreath. Flip the grapevine wreath over and insert a piece of twine. You can cut a piece of hemp twine about 3/4″ long. Work it through several sturdy pieces of the grapevine in the top center. Create a lop and secure it with a knot tie.

This loop will enable you to hang it on a wall or front door with a 3M Command Hook or over-the-door wreath hanger. You may also substitute a piece of floral wire for the twine.

Adding Greenery To The Background

Adding faux greenery to the wreath.

Two green hops were used at the top of the wreath, and towards the bottom, they were turned in the opposite direction. The flowers will fill in the center portion. You can add a touch of hot glue to the hop stem and work it into the grapevine to secure it.

Adding Flowers

Start with your larger flowers first. Trim down the stems of the three pink hydrangeas. Use some of the leaves as fillers.

Add the dark pink cherry blossoms. You can work one stem at the top and the bottom above the green hops. I cut the third cherry blossom into a couple of pieces to work around the center hydrangea blossoms. The third type of flower stem was worked around the outer edge of the wreath. The stems were trimmed and a dap of hot glue was added to secure the blossoms into the grapevine wreath. The extra leaves from the geraniums can be worked to fill in any gaps.

Finishing Touch – Add Ribbon

A simple bow in a beautiful thick texture white ribbon finishes a wreath.

The finishing touch to your wreath would be adding a beautiful ribbon in a color of choice. For this wreath, I selected a white cotton ribbon. Our front door is black. The ribbon was tied in a simple bow with the tails trimmed at an angle. You may also dovetail the ribbon. Selecting a white ribbon adds softness to the wreath and lets the flowers be the main focus.

I love the soft and vibrant shades of pink paired with the green hops in this wreath, which pops against the front door.

This wreath will be welcomed in spring and can stay on the door through the summer months. The pinks with the greens are a beautiful combination. This stunning wreath can be hung indoors or outside. The flower stems ranged from $1.49 to $3.99 at Hobby Lobby. I used ribbon from my craft supplies. The grapevine wreath was purchased last year when Joann Fabrics had a great sale. Try to purchase your items on sale or clearance to keep your craft projects cost-efficient.
