Let me show you how to create something beautiful from old plain acrylic napkin rings. I had them for ages and never use them. It was time to transform them into something pretty for my table.

SUPPLIES: – 6 Acrylic or plastic napkin rings – Jute Twine – 6 Embellishments – small pinecones, pumpkins or wooden leaves – Scissors – Hot Glue Gun

First, you will need to a piece of jute twine to 170 inches or to your deserve length. Next, add a dap of hot glue to the inside of acrylic or plastic napkin ring. Place the tip of your jute twine into the hot glue. I use a pencil to push it into the glue. This way, you do not burn your finger.

01 WRAP TWINE

Begin to wrap the jute twine around the napkin ring tightly. You should make sure that you have none of the acrylic ring showing. You can see it is wrapped tight as you go around the entire ring.

To finish, you will tuck the jute twine to the inside of the ring. Trim off any extra twine. Add a line of hot glue and with a pencil push the end of the twine into the glue. The raw edge should be hidden. Be sure to push it down to adhere well. .Add a dab of hot glue to the front of your napkin ring and place your embellishment.

02 FINISHING

No matter the embellishment you choose for your napkin ring, they are sure to add a touch of uniqueness and charm to your table. You will have something handmade and better than what you find in the retail store.

Look how lovely the napkin rings look on my table. Be sure to look for plastic or acrylic napkin rings the next time you are thrifting.

This is the upcycle vase that coordinates with the napkin rings. I found this glass cylinder at a local thrift store for $1.  You can check out my full tutorial is on the blog.
