Supplies for this DIY Heart Garland

I found all of my items at Hobby Lobby for 40% off except for the truck. The truck was purchased off Amazon a year ago. I listed some that were more reasonable in price. Amazon has it for $34. That is too pricey for me. I paid a lot less than that price.

Cut the hanger off the back of the metal truck with pliers. It will help the truck to lay flat on the sign.

Paint the large 15.5" by 14.5" heart with your favorite pink acrylic paint. You will need two to three coats of paint on the heart.

The package of hearts from Hobby Lobby came with two different sizes. I used two of the larger ones and four smaller ones. Paint the in red, white and pink acrylic paints.

Paint the Welcome letters in black acrylic paint. Remember to paint the sides of the letters too..

Next add E6000 Industrial Strength Adhesive Glue to the back on the truck and the Welcome letters. The glue will become tacky within minutes.

Place the metal truck in position first. Then you can place the welcome under the truck. Allow the the truck and welcome letter to dry overnight. This way it will have completely dried before you move on to finishing the project.

Add two large hearts in the background of the back of the truck. You will add a dap of glue to the back center of the hearts. Now layer the smaller hearts to appear as they are in the back of the truck.

You can use some moss to truck in between the hearts and truck to fill in the gap. This step is totally optional. To finish it, tie a decorative Valentine’s ribbon for hanging.
