Weight Loss Wednesdays – Week 4

Decor

27 Jan

This is my weight loss journey to lose 80 pounds through a lifestyle change. It’s not a diet, it is eating healthy. It is a life style change!

Weight Loss Wednesdays Week 4

Can you believe three full weeks have been completed on this new lifestyle change? I have entered into week 4. I am down a total of 8 pounds since this journey began. So far, I am happy with the results. Why? Because I am losing weight the healthy way. It’s consistent and not fast.

Yes, we all want the magic pill or diet that makes the weight go away fast in a few months. I would be one of the first people camping out overnight for a place in line. Until then, it is best to do the healthy way for long term weight management.

We all lose weight differently. For me, I start to lose it in my face first (thank goodness). I have already started to notice a difference. The next place I lose it will be in my arms and stomach. Then my sides, chest and back. The last place will be my thighs. Ugh! For some reason, my body likes to hold that weigh on the booty and those thighs. Remember again, we did not get here overnight. It’s going to take healthy eating, lots of water and exercise to get back into shape. Positive thinking!

Anyone’s face or skin breakout this week? Notice a couple pimples and wonder what in the world is going on? It’s a good sign that your body is detoxing. Good foods, vitamins, minerals and water are all going into the body. The toxins have to be release from your body and that happens through your stools, breath and skin too. It will soon pass. I usually will notice that my skin will have a glow and youthful look to it. I have a few breakouts on my face and arms. It’s completely normal.

Tip of the week

Take Your Measurements

You need to take your measurements of your body. If you have not done this yet, it’s not too late. And, you will thank me later. Why? Because there are going to be weeks when that scale does not budge. When the scale does not move, you are going to get discourage. Let me remind you, we are in this for the journey. The long haul of the journey until that healthy weight is reached!

Patience! Lots of patience! I have found that when the scale does not move, the inches did and went down.

I will be taking my measurements on the last day of every month. Also to track my measurements, I downloaded a free app on my mobile phone called Progress. I am sure there are other apps out there. Find the one that works for you or simply track it on a spreadsheet. You will be amazed at your results in the months ahead.

People forget that as you begin working out more, you are building up muscle mass. Muscle weighs more and could change the reading of the scale. It’s why we should not get discourage.

WEEK 4 – SUCCESSES

  • Down 8.0 pounds
  • Lost 1.0 pounds at the end of week 3
  • Got more steps in
  • Energy level is great
  • Noticed that my shirts fit better
  • Stayed up one night until 2 a.m. (I know right?)
  • Less brain fog

WEEK 4 – PITFALLS

  • Skipping meals – This is a huge no, no! I know better than to skip meals as it impacts the metabolism. I have been extremely busy in my full-time job. I find myself not taking the time for meals. It’s very important to eat at least three meals a day. I am sharing my pitfalls for 100% accountability.
  • Getting on the scale everyday – Guilty as charge! I need to stick with weighing once a week.

THE HEALTHY CORNER

Healthy Snacks

My go to snack when hubby is eating ice cream has no particular name. I listed it below as Better Than Ice Cream Healthy Snack. LOL It may not look super yummy, but I promise you it’s good. I love it and could eat it every day.

Better Than Ice Cream Healthy Snack

  • 2 heaping tablespoons of Greek Plain Yogurt
  • 1 Medium Apple of Choice cut into cubes or you can use whole fresh blueberries or sliced strawberries or sliced grapes (for berries or grapes 3/4 cup).
  • 1 teaspoon of organic honey
  • a dash of cinnamon or to taste
  • 1/4 cup of chopped pecan or walnuts or grain free granola.

Mix all ingredients well and enjoy!

It’s a simple and very easy healthy snack to make and tastes so good. You can make it anytime of the day!

Thank you for following along and stopping by the blog today. Please share your journey along in the comments. Make it a wonderful day, sweet friend!

Great Tip. Taking measurements is another great idea. Sometimes you lose inches before weight.
