This is my weight loss journey to lose 80 pounds through a lifestyle change. It’s not a diet, it is eating healthy. It is a life style change!
It has been almost two months come next Monday since I began this journey. February did not show me significant weight loss but successful still in losing weight. It’s so easy to put on but takes lots of work to get it off.
I am down 11.8 pounds since starting this lifestyle change in January. Now, I only have 68.2 pounds to go.
The big challenge for me for the past two weeks have been centered around work. I have been working long hours from home. There has not been a good balance between work and personal life. It happens sometimes but when it impacts sleep than there is a big issue.
Your body needs to have adequate sleep for it to function properly. A a study that featured in the International Journal of Obesity has found a link between insufficient or disrupted sleep and another issue, weight loss. The results indicated that overweight people that did not sleep well often lost less weight than people that had no sleep issues.
Poor sleep is associated with increased stress, glucose (blood sugar) intolerance and insulin resistance. It causes the metabolism not to function properly.
My goals for March will be to focus on time management. Put on the calendar time for exercise at the same time everyday and stick to it. Another goal will be to achieve healthier sleeping habits. Try to go to bed at a set time during the week.
TIP OF THE WEEK
Have you seen where ladies hang their bikini on the frig to remind them not to indulge in the wrong foods? Well, I have no plans to put a bikini on the refrigerator.
What I did was pulled a favorite dress out of my closet. I hung it in plain view inside my closet.
Every morning when I dress, it’s there in plain sight. Every night, when the pajamas go on that cute dress is there. It’s hanging there saying oooh don’t you just want to wear me.
Well, heck yes! I want to wear it and play that song “Coming In Hot”. LOL I told my husband this morning and he started chuckling.
