Good morning, sweet friends! Welcome to Sundays Life Among The Blooms! Hope you have your cup of coffee in hand (tea or favorite beverage).
Here on Sundays, I talk about random things going on over at White Lilac Farmhouse and things that stop me in my tracks.
WHAT’S HAPPENING AT WHITE LILAC FARMHOUSE
I took some much time away on a nice long vacation with the hubby. We took a 9-day cruise up through New England and into Nova Scotia.

It was a fabulous trip with the most amazing weather. We could not have asked for better weather for this trip in the 70s. I even came back with a little tan.

My favorite part of the trip was visiting Bar Harbor, Maine. As soon as I stepped off the ship arrived in the port, you could smell the fresh air. The air was amazing and smelled so clean.

We enjoyed a fabulous Lobster lunch. It was delicious!

I was surprise to see lots of Rose Hips growing a long the water. Did you know you can eat Rose Hips? You can eat it like a berry, make tea from it and jelly.

It was so nice to decompress from work, the internet and especially the cell phone. I highly recommend turning the electronics off and enjoy the beautiful of nature.
We came back refreshed and well rested!
Saying good Bye to a faithful friend
Yesterday day was a tough day for our family. Chloe our 12-year old Boston Terrier had to be put to sleep at the Vet’s office.
A couple months ago, we found out that Chloe had cancer in her mouth. The Vet indicate that she could have up to 6-months left.

You may have seen her in some of my photos. Her and Piper were always not far from me.
She loved my husband more than anything. Where ever Jim went so did Chloe. She was his little side kick. Chloe loved to go on car rides and walks with Jim.
Chloe also loved the grandchildren. She loved all of the attention from them. She loved sleeping with Madi when there were sleep overs at our home.

In her senior years, she became more mellow. Believe me in her younger years, she was quite the clown. We use to call her Klepto Chloe. At the old house when she was younger, Chloe would steal toys from the neighbor’s yard. I was forever finding toys in our yards that did not belong to my children.

She loved to sleep under the bed with her legs sticking out. Chloe thought she was hiding but the legs sticking out half way was a give away. I could go on and on about the silly antics of this dog.
My sweet friends, this video shows a beautiful friendship between two dogs.
Chloe was well loved by all the family, grandchildren, neighbors and their children. She was especially loved by Piper, our 2-Year Old French Bull Dog. Piper not sure where her bestie is at the moment. We are all trying to adjust to life without, our Chloe Girl.
on the blog this week
This week on the blog, I did a fun project with one of my old pumpkins.

It’s amazing what you can do with a little paint. I love how this project turned out to update something to refresh it into my fall decorations. You can read about it in this post, Beautiful Pumpkin Makeover With Dixie Belle Paints.
coming up next week
Wednesday, I will be sharing my Fall Home Tour along with other amazing bloggers. You will get to step inside our homes. There will be so much beautiful inspiration to see.
More fall projects under way that I will be sharing too.
BEAUTIFUL INSPIRATIONS FROM OTHERS
Here are some of my favorites for this week from my blogging friends.
I love this idea from my sweet friend, Kim Cottage In The Mitten.

She uses a pumpkin as a planter. Is this not beautiful? I love this idea. You can read more about it here.

I absolutely love this idea for the fall and winter. My friend, Stacy at Stacy Ling Bricks ‘n Blooms show us an amazing Potluck Luncheon Idea with Soups! You can read all about it here and be sure to download some of her amazing soup recipes. My favorite is her Corn Chowder!

How stinking cute is this Jack-O-Lantern Topiary for outdoors? I love everything about it. My talented friend, Wendy shows us How to make the Easiest Outdoor Pumpkin Topiary. Is it not adorable for the garden, back patio or porch?
