Sundays Life Among The Blooms Vol. 2

Good morning, sweet friends! Welcome to Sundays Life Among The Blooms! Hope you have your cup of coffee in hand (tea or favorite beverage).

Thank you for joining me!

Here on Sundays, I talk about random things going on over at White Lilac Farmhouse and things that stop me in my tracks.

Sundays Life In The Blooms #2

WHAT’S HAPPENING AT WHITE LILAC FARMHOUSE

My Limelight Hydrangea Bushes

Sundays Life Among The Blooms #2 - Hydrangeas 1

The Limelight Hydrangea Bushes in our yard have really taken off. We have huge blooms on the plants. I have been cutting them to enjoy inside.

I want to dry some of the Hydrangea blooms for fall projects. You can read about How To Dry Hydrangea here. I love to use the dried blooms in my home for the fall and winter seasons. They look beautiful in a wreath.

The Birthday Girl

Sundays Life Among The Blooms #2 - Chloe

Our Chloe girl turns 12 today. She is living out her best life. This precious girl who’s favorite person in the world is my husband, Jim. He takes her on car rides with him everywhere. Just the two of them.

She is a beautiful and sweet old gal. Chloe loves children and very gentle with them. She snores louder than anyone in the house. LOL.

Recently, Chloe had surgery on her mouth. It was discovered that she has cancer in that area of her mouth. There is nothing more the Vet can do for her. Needless to say, we were all devastate about the new.

She will continue to live her best life until Chloe. When her pain is too bad, we will make the decision for her to be put to sleep. For now, we continue to spoil her.

Last chance to get some gardening items. I am loving these galvanized planter boxes. The product indicates rust proof. Two of these planters would look nice in the back section of our yard. Pumpkins may be the first produce that we will be growing for the fall.

I was elated to hear the news that Leslie Saeta of My 100 Year Old Home wrote a book! Yes, you heard that correct.

She wrote a book!

A Home to Share is currently on presale and you can purchase it and read more about it here. It is due to be released on September 27, 2022. There will be book signing events.

Let me tell you, Leslie is the queen of entertaining and all things crafts. She is so very talented and makes magic with everything her fingers touch! I can hardly wait to get her book to read. Needless to say, I ordered my book within minutes…yes minutes of hearing her announcement.

    1. Kelly, you are so welcome! I had no idea there was a mix especially for Zinnias. You had so many great tips. Thank you about, Chloe. It was tough to write about but
these pups are always photo bombing. They are my little side kicks.

  2. What a beautiful post Tammy. Happy birthday to sweet Chloe, however I am sad to hear the news that she has cancer. I am hoping they were able to get most of it and she can live pain free. Our furry friends are such a part of our lives.
Your limelight hydrangeas are amazing. I really need to plant one of these bushes.
Enjoy every bloom and the best part is that you can dry them.

  3. Happy Birthday sweet Chloe! I am sure that Chloe is being smothered with love, treats and more, just as she has always been. I am so sorry to hear of her cancer. Make memories my friend, they will be the balm that will sooth your heart, that and knowing that you have been an amazing mom to her.
I grew zinnia for the first time this year from seeds and I am so proud. It makes me smile every time I look out my door and see their bobbing heads. Conversely, when I look out and see that the deer have munched them to the ground I am not so happy.
I hope that you have a lovely week.

P.S, thanks for the painting tips, I am going to repaint my vintage outdoor furniture this week, I just have to pick a color.

    1. Elizabeth, thanks for your kind words about Chloe girl. It’s tough but she is living a good life. I am jealous of everyone’s Zinnias (in the nicest possible way). Mine did horrible this year. Yes, use that paint. I am really pleased at how the furniture turned out. To replace that furniture brand new would be thousands of dollars. A little work and it’s good as new. I have another table and four chairs to do. I moved them off the patio to the back section of yard. I wanted less furniture on the patio.
