I love making desserts that make my family feel extra special on occasions. These mini heart-shaped cherry and chocolate filled pies are always a big hit. Why? I make them a couple times a year. They are delicious too!
I used a large heart cookie cutter. You can use any shape or size cookie cutter to your preference.

TUtorial

First preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then line your baking pan with parchment paper.
It’s really easy to make these mini pies. Roll out the Pillsbury Pie Crust.
I was able to get four large hearts out of one sheet of pie crust. These will be my bottoms. I cute four more out with the second sheet of crust. The extra crust, I rolled out to get two more hearts. Five tops for my mini pies and five bottoms.
To each heart, I added a handful of Semi-Sweet Tollhouse Chocolate Morsels to each pie. Next, I spooned Cherry Pie filling in the center of each heart.

I placed the pie crust tops over the bottom hearts with fillings. With a fork, I pressed all of the edges together. You will repeat this step for each heart.
To vent each of the mini pies, you will make a crisscross slit in the center.
Time to bake

I wanted to slow bake them so they do not burn. Bake them at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until the edges of the pies start to turn golden.
Allow them to cool for about 5 minutes and sprinkle with powder sugar. You could also drizzle chocolate across the pies.
The finished Mini Heart-Shaped Cherry and Chocolate Filled Pies Pies

These mini pies are great for any occasion! You can also try a various different fillings like strawberry or blueberry pie fillings. Nutella chocolate would work in lieu of semi-sweet chocolate. The options are endless.
