Supplies for creating mini spring wreaths with 3 inch grapevine wreaths, moss, dried flower assortment and pink and white gingham ribbon.

SUPPLIES:

  • 3″ mini grapevine wreaths (you can substitute 4″ grapevine wreaths), I made six (6).
  • Dried flower assortment
  • Green moss
  • Hot glue gun
  • Hot glue sticks
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon (optional)

1. DIY Mini Wreaths – Adding Moss

These silicone finger thimbles are wonderful to protect my fingers from hot glue. If you don’t have any, they are a must if you do a lot of crafting.

To create these DIY mini wreaths, you’ll need a grapevine wreath, either 3 inches or 4 inches in diameter. The 3-inch wreaths are perfect for use as napkin rings. For spring or shower favors, both the 3-inch and 4-inch sizes are suitable.

Apply a small amount of hot glue to a section of the grapevine wreath. Immediately press the moss firmly into the glue. If you don’t have a silicone finger thimble, use a pencil or popsicle stick to avoid burning your fingers. Continue adding moss until only the front surface of the wreath is covered.

2. Adding Dried Flowers

Assorted dried flowers in cream, pink and purple.

Separate the dried flowers that you want to use and trim off the stems. This inexpensive kit came with a lot of flowers and two pairs of pink tweezers. You can make a lot from this one kit.

Add a dot of glue where you want to place the flower. Continue this process until you have the desire look you want to achieve.

To protect the delicate flowers, you may want to consider a light coat of clear sealant. Especially, if the wreaths are going to be handled often, you will want to protect them.

Beyond The Table Setting

The beauty of this project, you can design each wreath differently or all the same. You can also add stamped or hand-written tags to your wreath with some twine.

While these wreaths are perfect for spring table settings, these miniature dried flower and moss wreaths are versatile and can be used in many other creative ways. Here are some ideas:

  • Favors for spring gathering such as Easter, tea parties, baby or bridal showers.
  • Candle rings
  • Napkin rings
  • Lean against books in a bookcase.
  • Add them as a gift topper to a wrapped gift for a special touch.
  • Tie one to a gift basket or Easter basket.
  • Add to the front of a decorative birdhouse.
  • Ornament Alternative: Hang them on a small decorative tree or use them as unique ornaments during the holiday (not just for spring).
