Good morning, sweet friends! Welcome to Sundays Life Among The Blooms! Hope you have your cup of coffee or tea for some inspiration.
Here on Sundays, I talk about random things going on over at White Lilac Farmhouse and things that stop me in my tracks.
WHAT’S HAPPENING AT WHITE LILAC FARMHOUSE
There has been great progress on basement home theater project. This week the drywall went in and the room got a coat of mud. Once the mud had dried the workers came back and sanded all of the walls. All the walls received a coat of primer.
Our local cable company came in on Friday to run the television cable to another location. We had working cable in the basement with a small television hooked up.
Our special order cabinets came in this week from Lowes. Although Lowes screwed up the order. We ordered cabinets with a gray glaze inset in the panels of the drawers and doors. The same look as our kitchen. They arrived to my house solid white.
The cabinets arrived without the hardware that was ordered and no toe kicks. One of the cabinet drawers was damaged and will have to be replaced.
Saturday we went to Lowes and no one was able to help us. I no joking. We were told to come back at 3:30 p.m.
Normally, I would send the cabinets back. However, they are to be installed next week.
With no hardware, I went online to order handles and knobs. I found beautiful hardware by Amerock.
With the cabinets solid white, these Amerock cabinet hardware will look nice against the white. The hardware will help make the cabinets look less plain. I love the look of the black with the satin Nickel finish.
knee replacement surgery
Yes, you heard that right. I am having knee replacement surgery. Needless to say, I welcome this surgery to get a new knee. I cannot tell you how much the thought of eliminating the pain means to me. It has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 27th.
The horrible pain is due to years of running in my 20s, 30s and early 40s. I have bone on bone with bone spurs in between. It is time for a brand new knee!

Thanks for sharing my bedroom makeover! So thankful😊
You are welcome, Kelly. It was such a pretty Tween’s bedroom.
Tammy, I am so sorry that your cabinets are not what you ordered. I am sure that the room will look beautiful once you are finished with it. I hope that Lowes gives you your money back!
My mom is getting knee replacement, she is excited too! I will be praying for your Tammy.
Have a great weekend Tammy, off to check out your links.
Thank you, Elizabeth. That’s the problem with special orders and shipping. They are nice cabinets with dove tail and easy close. I just need to get the one drawer replaced. It is frustrating that you do a special order and it comes in completely wrong. Guess it could be worst.

Tammy, I’m so sorry for all the issues with your cabinets. That’s so frustrating, but they’re going to be beautiful once they’re finished! Thank you so much for the sweet feature this week! I appreciate that so much!! Have a wonderful week!
Thank you, Kim. It is the only hiccup we had so far. I am sure it will all work out.

Oh, Tammy! Seriously a mess up on your basement cabinets?! So very sorry, friend! Love the hardware you have selected. Great choice! And a knee replacement? Oh, friend! I’ll be praying that all goes well. Thank you for sharing my cupcake toppers. The best fun in a DIY project in a while! Hoping your week with that basement brings beautiful results!
Thank you, Leslie. Can you believe they messed up the order? I think the hardware should help the plain cabinet look better. The cabinets are dove tail and the quiet close. Yes, a knee replacement! I told my grandson that my new knee will help me run faster then him. LOL.
So sorry to hear about your cabinet error! The draw pulls you purchased are so pretty and will look great against the white cabinets!
Thanks, Kim. I went back to Lowes and they were really great to help me replace the drawer that was damaged. The dark granite will help add some color to it also. The drawer pulls were pricey but makes a difference on the plain cabinets. Since it was only five pieces of hardware verses an entire kitchen, I went for the jewelry on the cabinets.
